Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Security Officer.

How long will it take?

The total time for this qualification is 42 hours, and of this, 38 hours are guided learning hours (GLH). 5 days.

Topics covered

These include the principles of working in the private security industry, working as a security officer in the private security industry and the application of conflict management in the private industry

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examination.

Security Officer Top Up Course

The Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top-Up) qualification provides the required training for those working as a Security Officer in the United Kingdom that need to re-apply for their SIA licence.

First Aid & SOTU – 1 day.

Cost: £155 (+vat).

In order to reduce the duration of the SOTU training learners will need to complete both ACT & ACT Security online training before attending (more info on this can be provided https://ct.protectuk.police.uk/sia )
